Verizon has a new plan where you can add up to 10 lines (devices) with unlimited talk and text and you have to pay for data by the GB (starting at 1GB for e-mail only) - Great for Families. T-Mobile has some really neat plans now too as well Sprint, Cricket, and some of the other providers. If you are a family or individual in need of financial assistance, there is a program called "Life-Line"/"Link-Up" in Texas, Louisiana and many other states that are sponsored through each individual carrier where you only pay for what you need for about $9.00 per month. This is what we pay taxes for on our cellphone bills - for people that are really in need and they do know who is scamming them. I PROMISE YOU. There is assistance with home telephone service or wireless (one or the other and free connection fees) for indigent people and families and victims of elderly or domestic abuse. The other plan is through the TX Public Utility Commission where you pay less than the usual amount on the power bill based on the amount you earn from work each month. There are other programs that assist with Special Needs, At Risk and Elderly or Infirmed people that have to have air-conditioning, special equipment, beds, oxygen or other that would necessitate keeping the power on and keeping a back-up emergency power source. This can be supplemented to apartment complexes and other places by Social Security, The Public Utility Commission and Countless Agencies that are Available for Assistance and Information.
